The shop had always fascinated me...
The shop had always fascinated me.

I live in the neighbourhood and it’s stopped me in my tracks countless times. At first, it was the main shop front that caught my eye.

Showcasing an eclectic collection of objects or, relics. From dusty chandeliers, copies of the Sun newspaper from 1997, a diary from the 1980s, to name a few.

However, it was the tall, narrow window flanking the door to the left that drew me closer and held me there, over the years. This window framed a little exhibition that curiously changed from time to time, almost imperceptibly. This time the objects - stone heads, metal sculptures, forms of varying materials threaded together with a sense of meaning that felt to me, definitely present but resolutely unspoken.
